The battle for Las Vegas's short-term rental crown has reached its verdict, and the winner may surprise you. While Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour" brought legions of Swifties to Sin City, the Super Bowl ultimately reigned supreme in terms of revenue impact. AirDNA, a short-term rental analytics firm, crunched the numbers and revealed that the Super Bowl generated a whopping $5.73 million in short-term rental revenue, compared to Swift's $1.6 million. This disparity boils down to two key metrics: additional nights booked and average daily rates.

The Super Bowl fueled a $4.82 million increase in bookings, while Swift's tour generated $1.23 million. This suggests that football fans were more likely to extend their Vegas stays, creating a higher demand for rentals.

Super Bowl hosts also charged 19% more per night than usual, raking in an additional $908,780 compared to Swift's $379,000 boost. This indicates a greater willingness among football fans to pay premium prices for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Despite not taking the top spot, Swift's tour did have a significant impact. Her overall U.S. tour generated $27.3 million in short-term rental revenue, highlighting her immense draw.

The rental landscape also played a role. Las Vegas caters to both ends of the spectrum, with high-end units like those managed by TurnKey Pads commanding nightly rates of up to $30,000 during the Super Bowl. Swift's fans, while dedicated, may not have been as willing to splurge on such luxury accommodations.

While data paints a clear picture, it's important to remember that the Super Bowl and Taylor Swift concerts offer vastly different experiences. Ultimately, the choice between cheering on your team or belting out your favorite anthems comes down to personal preference.
